“But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”

What Does “Christ Crucified” Mean?

The phrase refers to the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for the sins of the world. Christ's death was not an accident of history. It was God's provision for humanity's greatest need.

Through His death and resurrection:

Sin is forgiven.

Lives are changed.

Hope is restored.

People are reconciled to God.

For Christians, the cross is not merely a symbol. It is the foundation of our faith.

Why Is This Important to Burnsview?

Many things can occupy the attention of a church — programs, activities, events, buildings, good causes.

While these things may have value, Burnsview believes the central message of the church must always remain Jesus Christ and His Gospel.

Our desire is that every ministry, every class, every service, and every sermon ultimately points people to Christ.

At Burnsview, we believe people need more than encouragement, inspiration, or religious activity. They need the truth of God's Word and the hope found in Jesus Christ.

For that reason, biblical preaching remains central to everything we do. Our goal is not simply to discuss current events, personal improvement, or human wisdom. Our goal is to faithfully proclaim the Gospel and teach the Scriptures in a way that helps people know Christ, grow in their faith, and follow Him in daily life.

We believe the message of Christ crucified still has the power to change lives today, just as it did when the Apostle Paul first proclaimed it.
