About Burnsview

Our Story

A family church in Greer, SC since 1921

Our Story

Built on a Firm Foundation

Burnsview Baptist Church was established on October 23, 1921, when a group of believers in the Greer community came together with a vision: to be “a church as a beacon of light in a dark world.” Construction on the first building began the following spring, built with donated logs and volunteer labor.

In 1966, the congregation completed a new sanctuary, dedicated in March of 1967. In May 2002, Rev. Tim Huckaby became pastor, beginning a renewed season of outreach that led to a modern, 700-seat sanctuary completed in 2005. In August 2021, Burnsview celebrated its 100th anniversary - still rooted in the same mission that founded it over a century ago: to be an anchor of faith in our community, built on the Bible.

What We Believe

Anchored in Scripture

Burnsview affirms the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) as our statement of faith - rooted in the authority of Scripture, salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and the priesthood of every believer. We preach Christ crucified, and we invite you to study these convictions alongside us.
